Happy Father's Day Daddy!!

Usually I have Daddy help me put all my musings down for posterity, but this time I asked Mommy to help me because this one is dedicated to Daddy. Mommy tells me all the time that one of the best things she ever did (after making me of course) is to marry Daddy and pick him to be my Daddy. Even though I don't know much about this stuff and he is in fact the only Daddy I know, I am inclined to agree. Although it does turn out that Daddy doesn't make me milk, only Mommy does. How do I know this you ask? I got hungry while I was laying on Daddy the other day and attempted to latch onto his nipple, and let me tell you, I was in for a rude surprise! Apparently Daddy was too because he yelped, which Mommy called "gratifying", and then laughed for a long, long time.

But I digress....Even though milk is my most favorite thing ever, I am willing to overlook Daddy's lack of it because he has a lot of other things going for him. For starters, he works very very hard to support me and mommy and to "keep me in diapers" as Mommy says. He is gone at a place called work all day and I miss him a lot, but I am lucky to have a Daddy who takes such good care of us. When he is here, the work doesn't stop because apparently taking care of me all day is hard work and Mommy is pooped, so when he gets here he does diaper duty and helps Mommy give me baths, and plays with me. In fact, Mommy said the first three weeks that I lived here, if it weren't for Daddy, she wouldn't have survived, or at least her sanity wouldn't have. She also says it's good that I am too little to understand what that means.

It turns out that Daddy is also a master swaddler, which is lucky for me because that is the best way to get a good nights sleep. In fact, I credit that with my ability to tuck in for a nice 7 hour stretch, and Mommy apparently likes when I do that also. He also sings me funny songs, and tickles me, and does something he calls "super Teagan" where he swoops me through the air. I love this, and it makes Mommy very nervous which makes me and Daddy love it even more. He also tells me all about the fun things that he will do with me when I get a little bigger. I guess there is this thing called "skiing" that Daddy is into, he claims that he will have me on skis before I am walking. Sounds good to me as long as it means spending time with him. All in all this Daddy guy is pretty amazing, and it looks like I am pretty lucky to have him in my life. Happy Father's Day Daddy! I love you!!
Oh, and in exchange for her help I graciously told Mommy she could say a little something.

Tim- thank you for giving me such a beautiful daughter. You're as great a Dad as you are a husband. Love you :-)

The Teagan Files: Exhibit A "I do Smile!"

Don't believe a word my parents say. This video provides proof that all I do all day is smile and play. Anything they suggest to the contrary is an outright lie! These people are not to be trusted.

Adventure in the Southtowns

Once upon a time, in a quiet little burg of the Queen City, a little Irish firepot named Teagan decided that her family life of dogs and kitties could do with a little excitement. With baby seat in tow and a head dancing with a spirit of adventure, Teagan set off on a parental assisted stroll.

Having heard about the crazy dalliances of her papa, Teagan decided to check out the old stomping grounds of her quickly graying old man. After a car ride of restful bliss, our heroine awoke to the sounds of a baby 6 months her elder. Giggling and smiling, Teagan's new found friend, Anna, spent an afternoon sharing toys, baby stories, and grandpa baby swings with Teagan. The experience left Baby T with a merry glimpse of the grand life in store for her in the upcoming months.

With the sun quickly drifting below the boughs of the trees, Baby T quickly needed to find a soft spot to lay her head. After a quick tour of the arms of all the giants around her, Teagan settled upon one with a nice set of strong cozy arms that could hold her tight while she caught some Z's. She slept so soundly in the arms of her new buddy Mark, Teagans parental units decided this gentle giant would soon be rented every evening to perform similar duties.

Upon arising from her calming slumber, our heroine decided she needed to find a hero to share her tale with. She pulled out her parents little black book and scanned the pages to find a fitting suitor. Reading through facebook profiles and scanning baby pictures, Teagan found just the handsome man to do the job, a cutie named Dominic.

Dominic and Teagan, smiled, cried, and pooped the evening away while their parents traded tales from their shared birthday. Unbeknownst to our hero and heroine who were too busy feeding to notice, these wicked ladies would decide to re-establish betrowthals in the modern world and remove all elements of free will forever more.

The moral of our tale: Telling your parents you need some more excitement in your life can lead them to give you away to the first suitable man they can find!
